Many University of Georgia departments offer directed reading, study,   research, projects, special topics, internships, honors thesis, internships   and study abroad for academic credit. LACSI certificate credit may   be acquired WHEN the chosen topic or geographic region focuses on   Latin America and the Caribbean or Latinos in the United States.

LACSI strongly encourages certificate students to pursue study abroad opportunities in the Latin America/Caribbean region and will serve   as an informational resource to assist students interested in pursuing   this experience.

In lieu of study abroad, certificate students are encouraged to carry   out volunteer work with the Hispanic/Latino community of Athens-Clarke   County. There are numerous non-profit organizations and units of the   University of Georgia working with this community and LACSI will assist   you in finding a volunteer experience that will enrich your life. See   here -Community Outreach - for a list of organizations and programs that need volunteers   to work with the Latino community.

Please contact individual departments for up-to-date information on   specific courses listed and other departmental offerings
